The biggest and baddest mountain bikers party is back again in Manali “The Mountain Biking Capital of India”.
This concept is first of its kind mountain biking festival in India which started in 2014, where mountain bikers from all around the world ride and party together for 1 week in the summer holiday season of the beautiful Himalayan town ‘Manali’.
The festival consists of various mountain biking events and activities assisted with mountain bike races, demos and workshops.
This year Himalayan Mountain Bike Festival has expanded to 3 exciting cycling events by adding Himalayan BMX Comp in its schedule followed by the famous Himalayan Trails n Dust Mountain Bike Challenge and Himalayan Downhill Mountain Bike Trophy which is the main highlight event during this festival.
These 4 action packed days will feature the most talented athletes from India, Nepal, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Israel and more.

DATE 26th May 2016:
1: HIMALAYAN BMX COMP | Time: 1300 hrs to 1430 hrs | Venue: Nehru Park (The Mall), Manali.
The new addition to Himalayan Mountain Bike Festival is BMX. BMX is also known as bicycle moto cross which was started in early 70’s in USA. This is a very big and entertaining form of cycling in which a rider uses a solid bicycle equipped with 20 inch wheel size. With the help of these bikes a rider can perform various trick and stunts which thrills the audience also.
Himalayan BMX Comp will be managed with the help of a professional BMX team called “SharpTune”. BMX riders from Bombay, Pune, Chandigarh, Shillong and Delhi are expected to participate.
These professional riders will also give exclusive demos and training workshop for interested riders after the event.

1: HIMALAYAN TRAILS N DUST MOUNTAIN BIKE CHALLENGE | Time: 09:00 AM to 1400 hrs | Venue: The Mall, Manali
This will be the 6th edition of Himalayan Trails n Dust Mountain Bike Challenge, which is a cross country mountain bike race famous not only within the riding community of Himachal Pradesh, but also various states in India. We are proud and lucky to have world class trails in and around Manali which serves as the best venue to organize this cross country race.
The race will be flagged off in Kullu and will go around the villages and pristine forests of Kaisdhaar. This cross country race will consist of steep climbs, technical sections, forest trails and downhill stretches which will test rider’s endurance and ability to tackle world class demanding trails.

1: HIMALAYAN DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKE TROPHY (Seeding Run) | Time: 11:00 AM to 1400 hrs | Venue: Ski Himalayas Ropeway, Solang Valley
Also known as the Most Wicked Mountain Bike Race of India, Himalayan Downhill Mountain Bike Trophy is an annual downhill mountain bike race organized on the legendary race track of Ski Himalayas, Solang Ropeway & Ski Centre.
This is the only professional downhill race of India which is held in a world class facility in Solang Valley (12km from Manali). Extreme riders from Pune, Bombay, Kerala, Bangalore, Delhi, Chandigarh, Shimla, Dehradun, and countries like Nepal, United Kingdom, Israel, France will be competing in time trial on this day. This gravity assisted race is extremely technical and will consist of obstacles like drops, jumps, roots, rock gardens on a 2Km slope.

1: HIMALAYAN DOWNHILL MOUNTAIN BIKE TROPHY (Final Run) | Time: 11:00 AM to 1400 hrs | Venue: Ski Himalayas Ropeway, Solang Valley
The final run of 3rd Himalayan Downhill Mountain Bike Trophy will be held on the closing day of Himalayan Mountain Bike Festival. The riders participating in Expert and Novice category will race against the clock and each other (based on Seeding Run results). This technical race track typically take three to five minutes to complete and winning margins are often less than a second. Professional downhill racers from Nepal will be strongest contender for the 3rd Himalayan Downhill Mountain Bike Trophy.
The experienced team of Himalayan Mountain Bike Network with the help of Himalayan Mountain Bike Festival has also given exposure to local riders and enthusiasts to interact with experienced and professional athletes. This opportunity has also helped Himachal Pradesh to produce strong riders who can compete and represent our State/Country in various mountain bike races that are organized worldwide.
