The BIKE Transalp powered by Sigma 2016 is the toughest amateur mountain bike stage race across the Alps. In seven stages, 600 teams-of-two, ride challenging trails, steep up and downhills along the European Alps. Almost 520 kilometers and 17,750 meters in altitude have to be managed through the week. 1,200 participants from 40 nations fought for the win.

For 2016, the 19th Edition of the event, India and Nepal made their first appearance. Nepal’s team (NCRR) included XC power house – Ajay Pandit Chhetri and Ayman Tamang. From India, National Juniors XC champ – Shiven Sharma teamed up with endurance churner – Devender Thakur forming ‘HERO Action Team’. Also joining them from India, ‘Team MTB Himalaya’ – Ashish Sood and Henrich Fuchs. The 7Day mega race tested racers of every level.
