The 2nd Mechukha Downhill Championship 2018 is designed to be a definitive test for mountain bikers, with the focus of creating a great atmosphere, a budding community, strong competition and an adventurous experience.  Offering a slick riding weekend on one of the best terrains available in the region of West Siang District, Arunachal Pradesh. This race is also part of the Mechukha Adventure Festival 2018 organised by the District Administration, West Siang Sub-Division Administration, Mechukha.

Besides adventure sports, the event will also include, paragliding, river crossing, ATVs, bike stunts, traditional games, local cuisines, Music and more.

*PLEASE NOTE: TRANSPORTATION, FOOD AND LODGING WILL BE PROVIDED FREE OF COST ONLY TO THE FIRST TWENTY RIDERS TO REGISTER.

 

Location: Mechukha village

All participants must report on the 21st, November at 8:00am in Guwahati. From there we load the bikes and the riders and we will leave at 10:00am from the pick-up point to Pasighat which will take about 10-12 hours. We will halt for the night at Pasighat and the next morning i.e., the 22nd November, we will leave Pasighat and head to Mechukha which will take about 11-12 hours.
Practice run/Trail walk: 23rd November, 2017.
Seeding run: 24th November, 2017.
Final run: 25th November, 2017.
Track Distance: TBA


RULES & REGULATIONS

SAFETY:
First Aid + Evacuation: Information about the medical plan and location of the First Aid Base will be available at race headquarters.
Each competitor must supply the organizer with emergency contact details that can be used in the event of an accident on course.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENT
Safety Equipment:
All riders must wear a full face helmet during competition. The helmet should meet the regulations set by the event organizer. The correct fitting, condition and suitability of the rider’s helmet is the sole responsibility of the rider. Participants without helmets will not be allowed to race. Other safety gear is advisable such as gloves, knee pads etc.
Any protection rules put in place by the organizer must be followed by all competitors, no exceptions will be given.Rider Equipment:
It is strongly recommended that all competitors carry:
_ Sleeping bags
– Inner tubes/ puncture repair kit
– Multi tool
– Basic, well maintained first aid kit
– Eye protection (glasses or goggles)RULE VIOLATIONS
Course cutting:
Taking short cuts on course or within the race track are allowed in order to gain advantage but riders are not allowed to take short cuts out of the course or out of the caution tape or out of the race track can both damage the environment and bring the sport and spirit of Downhill Mountain biking racing into disrepute. Therefore, any rider trying to save time by choosing a line that lies outside of the marked course will be disqualified.
