The Enduro race of the Ziener BIKE Festival Willingen is becoming as important as never before. After the well-known Enduro series, which had stopped by in the State of Hessen in the past years, doesn’t come off anymore, Event Organisers agreed with the German Cycling Federation called Bund Deutscher Radfahrer e.V. to host the SCOTT Upland German MTB Enduro Championships.
On Sunday, May 21, it’s the first time in history that the nationals for Elite Men and Elite Women will be staged in the Hochsauerland region.
“Hosting the German Championships in Willingen underlines the positive development of the BIKE Festival which is important for us when it comes down to the races. Especially, as the BIKE Festival remains true to itself as no one will be excluded from participation. The SCOTT Upland Enduro is for everyone,” says BIKE Festival Project Manager Johannes Niemann.
Like the past years, the Pro Masters, Open Men, Open Women and Open Junior male categories are also on hand.
While participants need to be in possession of a valid license of the International Cycling Union (UCI) to compete in the Elite Men, Elite Women or Pro Masters category, Open Men, Open Women and Open Junior male are open for everyone who wants to give it a try
In addition, the event run down hasn’t changed compared to 2016.
The official training is slated to take place on Saturday, May 20 from 9 AM till 2 PM CET with the actual race starting on Sunday at 7:30 AM CET.
Registration for the SCOTT Upland Enduro opens on March 7
