Pune now has another first added to its list! A community skatepark. Approximately Rs.60Lakhs has been packed into this advanced level concrete bowl, located in the heart of the city. With its official opening on the 19th of April 2015, the first government funded skatepark of the country is set to feed the emerging skate, BMX and inline scene.
Deputy Mayor of Pune, Aba Bagul took the initiative to make this park a reality. Built with the sole purpose of giving a new and exciting medium of recreation to the communities youth, Mr.Bagul hopes to see India’s BMXers and boarders gain the skills required to win international comps. He also plans to involve experienced boarders and BMXers in organizing training sessions and grow the city’s alternative sports culture.
With an entry fee of Rs.5 the beautifully laid park bowl is located next to Dr.Babasaheb Ambedkar Krida Sankul, Sahakar Nagar. Landmark – Sahakar Nagar Police Stn.
