Action cameras; those cute little gadgets which takes beating at unimaginable locations to give us different images which are not possible by big cameras. So far GoPro has been leading the market but the new release by Sony could be the next best thing to have in your riding kit.

The new RX0 packs high-end photo and video capabilities into a pint-sized action camera body.

The camera itself measures 2.38×1.63×1.19″ (61×40.6×30.5mm) and weighs just 110.6 g. It’s has a durable build that’s waterproof (down to 33ft/10m), shockproof (from drops of 6.5ft/2m), and crushproof (from forces up to 440lb/200kg).

The Sony RX0 come with a 1-inch, 15.3 megapixel CMOS image sensor, with a wide 24mm Zeiss lens fixed at F4.

That sensor is bigger than any sensor available on current GoPro models.

The camera also features a shutter speed of up to 1/32000 and a burst mode of up to 16fps. It also comes with a screen on the back so you can check your shots real time.

This action camera will soon be a part of crazy video edits as it can shoot 1080p60 video internally, or 4K clean HDMI out when paired with an external recorder. Other video features include super slow motion (up to 960fps), MF assist and Peaking, Preset Focus options, Picture Profile options, S-Log2, and Time Code / User Bit features.

Sony says multiple RX0 models can be linked to shoot bullet-time shots (like in The Matrix) and other technical shots. The camera will also come with wide range of accessories.

However the RX0 will be expensive than a a GoPro Hero 5. Priced at $700 (apprx INR 44,800) and will be released this October.
