Mountain biking shifts another gear in Jammu’s Sanget Valley

Skyview Patnitop by Empyrean, Jammu’s latest mountain adventure and lifestyle destination in the Indian Himalayas, has expanded its offering of adventure activities by introducing Mountain Biking in Sanget Valley, in the foothills of Patnitop.

The inaugural ride earlier in January, saw participation by cycling enthusiasts from New Delhi, Jammu and Udhampur. With a large number of participants, the attending riders included Mr. Sachin Rustagi – founder of Edify Sports, Delhi, Mr. Anil Sharma, founder of JK Randonneurs Jammu and Super Randonneurs, and Mr. Rahil Gupta and Mr. Mineesh Gulati, founders UB – Randonneurs Udhampur.

The Skyview Adventure Valley MTB trail will be open to all levels of riders. The rides would be led by qualified instructors. Rental bikes will also be available. 

The two hour, 14 km, ride starts from the Lower Terminal of Skyview Patnitop located in Sanget Valley and goes along the same route as the gondola that connects Sanget to Patnitop. The scenic ride traverses a winding uphill mountain road that passes quaint villages, farm fields and a pristine pine and deodar forest, till it reaches a mid-point and then makes its way back  to the lower terminal. This is sure to enthuse thrill seekers for whom mountain biking is quickly emerging as a favorite adventure activity.

The adventure & lifestyle destination’s new vertical Skyview Adventure Valley after a meticulous survey of both Sanget Valley and Patnitop, has identified multiple trails appropriate for MTB rides. And with the inaugural ride successfully taking-off, enthusiasts and adventurers from across the country will have an opportunity to enjoy the sport in Sanget valley  in the foothills of  Patnitop, an undiscovered paradise.

It takes a 2-hour drive from Jammu, on the four-lane highway, across four spectacular tunnels, to reach this picturesque destination, just 3 km from the Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee [famously known as Chenani Nashri] tunnel. Sanget can also be reached from Katra in just 90 minutes and from Udhampur, which is only 45 minutes away.  The destination’s easy accessibility via air, rail and road will make it a much visited mountain adventure & lifestyle destination.

Visitors to Skyview Patnitop can spend an entire day here or up to 2-3 days filled with fun activities, bespoke experiences, including adventure activities on site such as taking a ride on the spectacular ropeway, to thrilling zig zag zip- lining, tubing sledge, as well as offsite activities like mountain biking, trekking, birding, sightseeing and interaction with local villagers. In addition to the  existing activities, Skyview Patnitop will also be introducing more leisure and adventure activities in the coming months.
