In the year 2015 Manuel Scheidegger improved the hourly world record in the wheelie – driving on a bicycle to 25.7 km. The aim of the worldrecord on a 400m track in Thun was to collect donations for Nepal. More specifically, for the reconstruction after the devastating earthquake of 2015 and for street children in Pokhara, the second largest city in the country. A total of 35,000 Swiss francs were invested.
In October 2016, Mänu Scheidegger wanted to see for himself how the bike project had started. What he saw was very positive. The young people go daily biking and are enthusiastic about it. Manuel taught in driving technique and repair-work and enjoyed a few rides on the trails around Pokhara.
