Yak Ru – Annapurna Challenge is probably one of the most beautiful mountain biking stage races held in the Annapurna region of Nepal. Every year, world’s best mountain bikers congregate in the Nepal Himalayas to take part in the most amazing high altitude mountain biking race.
On April 25th 2015, Few weeks after the race was concluded, a powerful earth quake Struck Nepal and pretty much destroyed anything on its path. Villages in and around the epicenter (Barpak in Lamjung district) were worst hit.
Yak Ru team is devastated to learn about the damage that were brought to our mountains, to our homes and homes to so many of our crew members were just left to Rubble.
This video is dedicated to all those who lived in the mountains, to those who are continuing to live in the mountains and to those who will live in the mountains. Mountain is our home and we will protect it. Yak Ru for Humanity Project is planning an expedition to these affected mountains to conduct long term need assessment and erect a project to look after their long term needs.
Through this video, we are also appealing to the world communities to support Nepal in this time of crisis. Nepal needs tourism support to revive our mountain economy again and lead them towards sustainability. Please help spread this message.
